I received the Garmin 545s gps about a week ago. It took me about a day to remove my old gps and sounder and install my new Garmin. The difference is unbelievable. The sharpness of the screen is amazing. I where glasses for reading; however the screen is large enough for me to read without glasses. The sounder half works great. I live in Alaska. We went out for the first time this year today. We were slaying the salmon. This is a great gps.

I have fished lake superior for 35 + years and have used all brands of electronics, but mostly Garmin. This 545s is by far the best unit i have ever had. It will read bottom in 500+ feet of water at 35 + MPH. with out any clutter on the screen. The GPS is clear and flawless. I like the actual satillite view on the screen. Its G-2 vision chip is awesome. It makes the unit worth double the cost. Its expensive but worth every penny

I received the GAPMAP 545s within seven days and installed it on my 44' trawler the next day. Works just great. I had to order a different tranducer for the depth sounder however, since the unit was shipped with a transom mount tranducer but I required a through-hole tranducer. Now I own a extra transducer without a home!
